The Filter , located on specific views, allows users to narrow the content of the information displayed on a given screen. The filters are context sensitive based on where the user initiated the filter.
Click the Advanced Filter drop-down menu.
Select the checkboxes for the items you want to show.
In the People view, select the checkboxes that apply:

Any of the selections (other than All) can be used in combination. For example, selecting Employee and Independent Contractors will give you both wage and 1099 worker types in your display list. |

Description |
Employee | This selection includes wage employees in your display list. |
Independent Contractor | A classification of workers hired to do specific jobs over which the person hiring has no right to control the manner in which the work is done. The workers generally have a distinct trade or business offered to the public and are often paid a lump-sum amount for the completed job. An independent contractor is not considered an "employee." |
Vendor | This selection includes records you created for issuing payments for services rendered to your company. |
Agency | This selection includes records you created for issuing payments for withholdings taken from your employees that are owed to a third party, such as a child support agency. |
All | This selection adds all of the possible People types (as listed below) to include in your display list. |
User | This selection includes personnel who have online user access accounts in your display list. |
Disabled User | This selection includes contract workers paid via 1099 (both individuals as well as company contractors) in your display list. |
Work List | This selection includes individuals who requested to be granted online user administrative level access to your company, but their access is pending your approval. |
Third Party | This selection includes individuals with online user access accounts who are not paid by your company (such as a CPA or broker) in your display list. |
Complete one of the following:
Click SAVE to save your filter selection as the default filter for this view.
Click APPLY for a point in time filter. After the user navigates away from the application, the filter reverts to the saved filter selection.

When APPLY is selected, the Advanced drop-down menu displays red to indicate a temporary filter selection. As long as the user remains logged in to an application, the filter remains. However, once the user navigates to a different icon (for example: from Company to People), the applied filter is no longer saved. |
Click CANCEL to discard the changes and close the Advanced Filter drop-down menu.
