Use of the Positions views is optional. If a client chooses to use Positions, it is not required for all employees to be assigned a position. The Positions view displays the available positions within a company. The user can add, edit, or end date a position.

Click Company in the top right corner of the screen.
Click Positions in the Views listing.
Click the add button next to Positions in the toolbar. The Positions screen displays.

Required fields are indicated with an asterisk *. |
Enter the title of the position in the Name field.
Type a date or use the calendar icon to select a start date for the Start Date field.

When adding a position, the start date defaults to the current system date. |
Click:
SAVE to save the record.
BACK to navigate back to the Positions grid view. The changes display but are not saved.
SAVE & NEXT to save the changes and move to the next position within the grid view.
Click Company in the top right corner of the screen.
Click Positions in the Views listing.
Click the edit button for the location to edit. The Positions screen displays.
Edit the applicable fields.
Click:
SAVE to save the record.
BACK to navigate back to the Positions grid view. The changes display but are not saved.
SAVE & NEXT to save the changes and move to the next position within the grid.
Deleting a position is the same as end dating a position. A user cannot completely delete a position from the Positions view unless Cancel is selected during the initial setup.
Click Company in the top right corner of the screen.
Click Positions in the Views listing.
Complete one of the following:
Enter an end date for a position:
Click the edit button for the position to end date. The Edit Position Information screen displays.
Type a date or use the calendar icon to select a date in the End Date field.

After an item is end dated, you cannot make changes unless a date on or after the current date is entered. |
Click:
SAVE to save the record.
BACK to navigate back to the Position view. The changes display but are not saved.
SAVE & NEXT to save the changes and move to the next position within the grid view.
Delete a Position:
Click the delete button to delete a position.
When prompted, click YES. This automatically assigns an end date of yesterday. To view the deleted position, refer to the Advanced Filter procedures to View Past Items.
Associations is a concept used to link items together to organize a company’s structure for worker assignments. Associations can be made between organization units, locations, positions and workers.

A user can create a location that is not associated to an organization unit. A user cannot create an organization unit that is not associated with a location. |
